Here’s some simple exercises to help increase club head speed using one golf club (I recommend a long iron or wood).
Here are the exercises included in the video above:
- Maximal Golf Swings
- Kneeling Baseball Swings
- Baseball Swings
- Maximal Golf Swings with upside-down club
- Lateral Step and Swing
You will need to perform these exercises right and left handed. As you can see from the video, I need a little practise with my right handed golf swings. And you can’t go to far wrong with a couple of sets of 10 reps of each exercise.
These exercises are great for increasing club head speed, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean you will hit the ball further. Increased club head speed can lead to increased ball speed and driving distance if ball striking is not compromised. If ball striking gets worse with increased an club head speed this can lead to more missed fairways or missed greens!
